Power Factor Correction (PFC) capacitors can unintentionally form a resonant circuit when exposed to current harmonics (typically between 150, 250 and 500 Hz), leading to amplified effects. This resonance occurs due to the interaction between the system's inductive and capacitive components. To mitigate this, capacitors are connected in series with filter reactors, creating "detuned" PFC systems. These systems lower the self-resonant frequency below the lowest line harmonic, effectively preventing resonance and ensuring system stability
